It’s Boys Volleyball time again!!
Sign-ups close Tuesday Feb. 7th. Absolutely no late registrations will be accepted.
Boys volleyball is a fun, relaxed, and educational league!!! SMM has enjoyed great success through the years in this sport and we encourage all boys in 3rd through 8th grade to be a part of the fun! No experience is necessary!!
The season starts after basketball and ends before soccer and baseball start!!!
Registration is now open for grades 3rd -8th. Please note for planning purposes: tryouts will be (hopefully) the week of Feb 13th (each grade level will tryout 1 day; tentatively 3rd/4th Monday, 5th/6th Tuesday, 7th/8th Wednesday); league play begins Feb 26th and Tournament ends March 30th. More details on tryouts to follow.
Sign-ups close Tuesday Feb. 7th. Absolutely no late registrations will be accepted.
Registration fee is $100.
Volunteer Opt-Out Fee:
Parents of volleyball players are required to volunteer for (1) shift per player during this season. A “sign up genius” will be sent out to allow you to volunteer for a shift. All volunteers must be at least a Freshman in high school. In lieu of volunteering, SMM Athletics is now offering the opportunity to opt-out of parent duties for the fees set forth here. The Athletic Ministry utilizes these funds to pay workers to cover the assigned duties during these shifts. Parents that do not sign up for a volunteer shift or participate in the opt-out program will be assigned shifts during the season and notified via email. SMM is a stewardship based parish and we rely on volunteers to maintain a successful athletic department. Over the past few years the number of parents willing to volunteer has dramatically decreased, leaving a lot of work for only a few. Please remember this when signing your child up to play a sport at SMM.
volleyball Opt-Out Fee: (1 Player) $30
volleyball Opt-Out Fee: (2+ Players) $60
If you are interested in helping with the kids, you need to register as a coach or assistant coach in the Gameday website. You must have a current background check on file with the parish office and completed the Safe Environment Training class through the Archdiocese.

Despite the cold weather, softball season is just around the corner! Mustang softball is a wonderful way for our girls to sharpen their skills and have some competitive fun with their classmates. All girls in 3rd through 8th grade are encouraged to play, and all experience levels are welcome! Tryouts could be necessary depending on the number of girls that we have register, which could certainly influence the number of teams. The cost to register is $75 and the deadline is February 28th. For more information, please contact Brian Driscoll at (502) 439-8610, or email at bdriscoll19@yahoo.com.
**For our 7th and 8th parents, if your daughter is interested in playing, please let me know ASAP. Historically, we have been able to collaborate with other schools to make the numbers work. But, due to Covid, CSAA is prohibiting this. We will do our best to make things work.
Kindergarten through 2nd Grade Spring Soccer
K-2 Soccer continues to be an excellent way for our little Mustangs to learn the basics of soccer, while getting to be active with their classmates. Games will be played on Sundays at either SMM or SATG, and the league is slated to start on March 19th.
For planning purposes, we will not be playing games on Spring Break or Easter weekend, with the season wrapping up in early May. Sign up now at smmathletics.com . Cost is $100 per player.
We also need coaches. If you are interested in coaching or have any questions, please contact Brian Driscoll at bdriscoll19@yahoo.com.
3-8th Grade Soccer (Spring 2023)
CSAA soccer is a great way for our Mustangs to further their soccer skills while competing with their classmates! The season starts in mid to late March and concludes at the end of May, near the time school wraps up. Registration is open for girls and boys in 3rd through 8th grade. For 3/4th grade, a girls only & Co-ed team may be possible if enough students are signed up to play. If not, the teams will be all co-ed. Traditionally, the 5th-6th/7th-8th level is all co-ed, depending on numbers. Tryouts for all age levels are a possibility depending on registered players. All registered kids will be placed on a team. We encourage everyone from beginners to experienced club players!
The deadline to register is February 18th and the cost is $100, after which no entries will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS.
