It’s Boys Volleyball time again!!
Sign-ups close Tuesday Feb. 7th. Absolutely no late registrations will be accepted.
Boys volleyball is a fun, relaxed, and educational league!!! SMM has enjoyed great success through the years in this sport and we encourage all boys in 3rd through 8th grade to be a part of the fun! No experience is necessary!!
The season starts after basketball and ends before soccer and baseball start!!!
Registration is now open for grades 3rd -8th. Please note for planning purposes: tryouts will be (hopefully) the week of Feb 13th (each grade level will tryout 1 day; tentatively 3rd/4th Monday, 5th/6th Tuesday, 7th/8th Wednesday); league play begins Feb 26th and Tournament ends March 30th. More details on tryouts to follow.
Sign-ups close Tuesday Feb. 7th. Absolutely no late registrations will be accepted.
Registration fee is $100.
Volunteer Opt-Out Fee:
Parents of volleyball players are required to volunteer for (1) shift per player during this season. A “sign up genius” will be sent out to allow you to volunteer for a shift. All volunteers must be at least a Freshman in high school. In lieu of volunteering, SMM Athletics is now offering the opportunity to opt-out of parent duties for the fees set forth here. The Athletic Ministry utilizes these funds to pay workers to cover the assigned duties during these shifts. Parents that do not sign up for a volunteer shift or participate in the opt-out program will be assigned shifts during the season and notified via email. SMM is a stewardship based parish and we rely on volunteers to maintain a successful athletic department. Over the past few years the number of parents willing to volunteer has dramatically decreased, leaving a lot of work for only a few. Please remember this when signing your child up to play a sport at SMM.
volleyball Opt-Out Fee: (1 Player) $30
volleyball Opt-Out Fee: (2+ Players) $60
If you are interested in helping with the kids, you need to register as a coach or assistant coach in the Gameday website. You must have a current background check on file with the parish office and completed the Safe Environment Training class through the Archdiocese.

The St. Margaret Mary Athletic Ministry is now opening registration for girls in grades 3/4 and 5/6 only for softball. Based on the survey, there was not enough interest from our parish or other parishes throughout the archdiocese. Practices may begin the first week of March and the season will run mid April through late May. It is likely that there will be two practices a week at the discretion of the coach and games will be played either Saturday or Sunday at Assumption.
Registration will remain open through February 28th and the registration fee is $90.
If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to me at the contact information below.
If the numbers for SMM do not warrant fielding our own team at each of these levels, it is likely that we will merge with other parishes, but this will depend on our numbers. If we merge, SMM will be considered the host team with practices held at SMM.
I want to thank everyone that completed the survey sent through the signup genius to assist in determining our next steps at SMM.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Go Mustangs!
3-8th Grade Soccer (Spring 2024)
CSAA soccer is a great way for our Mustangs to further their soccer skills while competing with their classmates! The season starts in mid to late March and concludes at the end of May, near the time school wraps up.
Registration is open for girls and boys in 3rd through 8th grade. For 3/4th grade, a girls only/boys only team may be possible if enough students are signed up to play. If not, the teams will be co-ed. Traditionally, the 5th-6th/7th-8th level is all co-ed, but we will evaluate once Registration is complete.
Tryouts for all age levels are also a possibility depending on registration numbers. All registered players will be placed on a team. We encourage everyone from beginners to experienced club players! The deadline to register is February 23rd and the cost is $100, after which no entries will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS.
WE NEED COACHES!!! If you are interested in coaching a 3-8 Soccer team, please EMAIL ME at carldgioia@gmail.com . As a reminder, you must have completed and have up-to-date Safe Environment Training on file to Coach. We'll need to know the number of coaches ASAP so we know how many teams we can accomodate!
