Basketball

K-2 Basketball

Registration for K-2 Basketball is now officially open! What a great way for your little Mustangs to not only learn some of the fundamentals of basketball, but to also have fun with their friends! Games will be played on Sundays, throughout the months of January and February, and we are planning to conduct two “clinics” on December 10 and December 16. Furthermore information regarding clinics will be provided at a later date.

Additionally, for those who want to start practicing, the children play on 8 foot rims, and will be using a 27.5" diameter ball. Registration is $100 per player, and will be open until 10/31.

Over the last few years, we have had over 150 children register for K-2 basketball. Obviously, this means we will need coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to Brian Barger at bcbarg2@gmail.com or at 502.693.0681 at your earliest convenience.

Intermediate Basketball

The cost is $100 and includes the team jersey. Registration closes at noon on 11/1.

Swimming

SMM Swimming is back and registration for the SMM swim team is now open for 1st - 8th graders! We'd love to have all SMM swimmers participate and help us compete for the city championship. If your child would like to be a part of our swim team, please register through GameDay.

Practice time will be 3-4 PM on Sunday evenings at Blairwood (9300 Blairwood Rd. Louisville, KY 40222). The plan is to have our first practice on January 7, 2024. More to come on the number of practices once we have confirmation on the meet date, but expect to have 6 practices that span January and February.
A couple of important things to know: All swim levels are welcome, but your swimmer needs to be able to swim on their own to be on the team, we are not able to provide a "swim lessons" environment given the available resources. They don't have to be fast, and don't have to be able to swim all of the strokes, just independent in the water (25 yards on their own).
CSAA does not allow Kindergarten swimmers in the meet and we are held to that rule.
If your child is currently swimming during the week with a club team, YMCA team, etc., they do not need to attend SMM practices unless they want to. Just sign up accordingly.
There is not a team suit, the swimmer may wear any type of suit and goggles. A team cap will be provided, along with an SMM swim t-shirt.
The season is short and culminates with the CSAA championship meet on March 2nd. (more to come on the meet). While the meet is not mandatory, it is a fun way to finish the season and the kids have a great time. We will ask for parents to help out during the meet, but more to come on volunteering and the meet when details are finalized.

Registration Fees:
Meet only (No Sunday practices): $40.00
Sunday Swim Practice only (No Meet): $40.00
Both Sunday Swim Practice and Meet: $70.00
